When my debut novel Dating the Undead released back in May this year, it was both the best and worst of times… The best because I drank Prosecco with friends, handed out signed copies of my book to loved ones, and went for a lovely Italian meal… The worst because I was riddled with self doubt, insecurity and fear. It was my first venture into the publishing world and I’ll be honest, it made me anxious as hell. I won’t go in the whys and hows of it all, but it’s safe to say, I considered never writing again.
But today here I am, on the eve of my second book’s release. There’s no prosecco, fancy food or big moments BUT the fear is gone, I’m calm, and I’m writing another book. I’m glad I didn’t give in to the insecurity that threatens to eat a writer’s soul at every turn. I suppose what I’m trying to say is, I’m glad I’m still here and writing.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this topsy-turvy, fabulous journey. Here's to you!
